What happens when you contact us

GTA Plumber Match is a free matching service. We don't do plumbing ourselves.

1

You tell us the problem. Text us, call, or fill in the short form. Requests are accepted 24/7.

2

Our team reviews it and contacts a plumber. We send your request to one plumber who covers your postal code. If they can't take it, we try the next one. We text you as it moves.

3

The plumber contacts you. They confirm whether they can come, when, and what they charge. You decide whether to book.

If no plumber is available, we text you to say so. You won't be left waiting without an answer.

Free for you. Plumbers may pay us a referral fee. You deal directly with the plumber for the quote, the work, payment and any warranty.

Ask about charges before you book

Plumbing charges are set by the plumber, not by us. Before anyone comes out, ask:

  • Is there a charge just to come out? Is it different at night or on weekends?
  • Is the charge hourly or a flat price for the job? What's included in the first hour?
  • Will you tell me the repair price before you start work?
  • Are parts extra? How do I pay?

Rented water heater? Check your bill first. If the tank is rented, the rental company usually handles repairs, and another plumber may not be allowed to work on it. Call them before booking anyone.

We review the reviews

A star rating can be gamed. Before we refer a plumber, we read their reviews and check their paperwork.

  • 4.5β˜… or higher on Google, from 50+ reviews
  • Review quality: recent reviews, a steady rating, replies to complaints, and suspicious review patterns set aside
  • Licensing and insurance checked before we refer them
  • Complaints from homeowners we refer are followed up, and can get a plumber removed
  • No paid placement: paying us a referral fee never gets a plumber past these checks

How we check plumbers β†’

Leak right now? Shut off the water

  1. Find the main shut-off valve. In most houses here it's in the basement where the water line comes through the front wall, near the meter. Condo? Look near your water heater or in a utility closet, or call building security.
  2. Turn it clockwise until it stops. A lever valve is off when it sits across the pipe.
  3. Open the lowest tap in the house to drain pressure.
  4. Water near outlets or the panel? Stay out of the water. Only switch off the breaker from a dry spot.
  5. Smell gas? Leave the house and call your gas utility from outside.

Areas we cover

Toronto, York Region and south Simcoe County.

    Questions

    Is this a plumbing company?

No. We're a free matching service. We pass your request to an independent local plumber who covers your area, and they do the work.

    What does it cost?

Matching is free and you don't have to hire anyone. Plumbing charges are separate and set by the plumber. Ask about call-out, after-hours and repair charges before you book.

    Is someone available 24/7?

We accept plumbing requests 24/7 by text, form and chat. Whether a plumber can come out overnight depends on who's available, and we'll tell you either way.

    Who will contact me?

We text you about your request. When a plumber takes it, they call or text you to confirm timing and charges. We share your request with one plumber at a time, and we don't sell your details.

What if no plumber is available?

We text you to say so, and keep trying if you'd like. If water is coming in, shut off the main valve and call a plumber directly.

Can I text instead of filling in the form?

Yes, texting is the quickest way. Tap "Text us", add your postal code and send.

Is the chat a real person?

The chat starts with an AI assistant that takes your details. Someone from our team can join the conversation.

My water heater is rented. Can you help?

Call the rental company on your bill first. Rented tanks are usually theirs to repair, and another plumber may not be allowed to work on them.

    How do you choose plumbers?

We check Google ratings and read the reviews, check licensing and insurance, and follow up complaints from homeowners we refer. Plumbers who pay us (Preferred Partners) are offered requests first and are labelled. Paying never gets a plumber past our checks. How we check plumbers.

How do I stop being contacted?

Reply STOP to any text, or email hello@gtaplumbermatch.com.
